Running April 28th and ending on May 8th, this public auction is held on our message board (you will need to create a message board account) and it’s the best we have ever put together, containing some truly fantastic bait lots and guided trips. The response from the musky community has been nothing short of amazing and some of the premier baitmakers across the U.S. and Canada have provided us baits that make this one of the most impressive auctions ever put together. Throw in donations from club members and guided trips with famous and well know musky guides and you have one amazing auction…
The auction is held each year to help the Penn-Jersey Chapter of Muskies Inc (MI50) raise money to improve the local fishery in South Eastern PA. This is mainly accomplished by purchasing advanced fingerling Muskies (12”-20”) from MN and WI, and stocking them into local lakes. Thus far the emphasis has been on Marsh Creek Lake in Chester County where the club has built a viable and flourishing pure bred Musky population. Stocking started in 2005 and we now have fish approaching 45″ in the lake. Given the success we have had on this body of water, the club’s goal is to move to a new body of water while still maintaining the fishery at Marsh Creek. These lakes include Lake Nockamixion, where the club stocked 1200 14″ to 20″ pure-bred advanced yearlings in the fall of 2012, Auburn Dam and Tuscarora Lake. This can only be accomplished by raising as much money as possible through auctions like this, Sports Show participation, club events such as “guide for a day” and the club’s coop/partnership with Cabela’s and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
