The boat I use in Wisconsin has died. I have to buy a new one.
So...I might as well upgrade my Pa boat!!!
The question:
I have looked at many boats already, but I'm not sure of the best way to go.
Should I go deep V because I am going to have to use it for skiing and tubing also.
Should I go modified V so that I can get some use out of the rivers. Can you ski behind a mod V?
I know I want 24v electronics. Anything else I should look for?

I am thinking about the polar kraft Kodiak.

Any thoughts guys?

I just bought a used RiverPro jet boat. {0}} Tonight was its first time on the BigD and my first time behind the wheel.

Specs: 176 HiPro XT. Boat is 17.5' long and about 8' wide. All welded aluminum, .10 sides and .190 bottom. 175hp Mercury SportJet, which puts it on plane in about 12' (no lie, it's that fast) and propels it to about 45mph. This boat will pull 2 skiers without a problem. The boat draws less than 10" when at rest and about 4" on plane. Stainless steel stomp grate to clear leaves and rocks. 24 volt trolling motor, with 2 battery charger built in. Huge swim platform as well as auxilliary (kicker) motor mount. 30 gal. live well with automatic timer and 2 airstones and a ProAir pump. 10' x 8' Bimini top which will allow trolling in the ugliest weather. Gunnels come about 5" above my knees, or mid-thigh for most of you. Gunnels are wide enough for me to walk around the perimeter of the boat (boat is that stable). All in all, it's everything you could want in a jet boat except for a Rockproof plastic bottom ;). Boat gets about 4 to 4.5 mpg, well over 2x what my outboard got.

I had the pleasure to launch the Po Thang II with Big D yesterday and all I can say is WOW (actually holy s@@t is a better comment)... Took about 20' to plane and had plenty of throttle left to giddy-up. Reminds me of an old gto / camaro with a lot of muscle and power and it has that cool gurgle noise. This boat can turn on a dime and do donuts about as well as a prop. Makes my boat look like an army dingy... Can definitely handle rough / lake water as well. Truly a boat for all purposes, although it doesn't like rowers / crew people. Great boat Dieter. <god><

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Big D,
I think your just made my wife mad at me. I have been looking for a good river boat and the RiverPro is a great looking boat. Do you know of any local dealers, or do you have to order and go out to pick up.
