Guys,
I won't be able to make our next meeting, because of work, so I figured I would post here, what I would have said there. Things are moving along nicely for the Youth Fishing Day.
We now have two sponsors that have been willing to pick up the cost of the t-shirts for the event. I just talked with the Boys/Girls Club of Allentown, and they we're really excited about this event. So much so, that they signed up 12 kids right away! I've also been in contact with my church , and they liked the idea for some of the "unfortunate kids" in our parish, although no firm commitments yet, so we currently stand at 14 kids! Right now, we are currently waiting for replys from the larger companies, but we still have plenty of time!
A problem however, has come up. It seems all the forms the Volunteers had sent into the State, came back to me rejected! Only kidding...Relax!
But seriously, whoever volunteered for this event, check your e-mail, under "Oops". I did indeed get back all the forms, but it turns out, we needed to submit an additional form to the State Police, plus an additional $10.00, to cover that check. You can do this online and pay with a credit card. The replys are usually in a matter of minutes. Once you get your reply, print the form, and send it to me, and then I will resubmit all forms. I'll send all the Vols, my address. I hope this doesn't deter anyone from volunteering!
I will be contacting Christian Berg ( Morning Call Outdoor Editor), to find out about the possiblity of attending and possibly , a photographer for a few pictures. I did briefly talk about this with him, but again, it's still pretty early. It looks like we're slowly putting together a nice day of fishing for the kids!
Sometimes you've got to "jiggle' it, and sometimes you've got to give it one big
"jerk"
