As of 8/5 eight members have sent release forms for a total of 28 fish from 7 different bodies of water (2 of which are out of the club area). Each legal fish (30") reported is given 4 points, and 1 point is added for each inch over 30. Club president Bob Jones has ruled himself inelligible and has sworn me to secrecy about his stats. To date Chuck Jones sr. is the leader with 3 fish and 36 points. 2nd is Matt Lysek with 4 fish but only 29 points. 3rd is Tom Sabia with 2 fish and 20 1/2 points. 4th is Gary Turansick with 1 fish and 19 points. He also has the largest fish reported so far at 45".!!! 22 of the 28 fish have come from Mercer Lake in N.J. ( and fish are found floating, maybe we should give this lake a rest!!!) One fish has been reported from each of Beltsville, Delaware River, Marsh Creek Lake, Susquehanna River, and as mentioned 2 venues out of the club area (Ky and Wi). Anyone with questions regarding release contest get them to me, and PLEASE don't let your release forms backup and send them in all at once. That eats into my retirement time. I post them as I get them, but the International only updates your stats twice a month.

Tom, Surely you are aware that the older (bigger) muskies are harder to lure out of their lair. Older muskie fishermen are the same way, unless it's to go fishing. I projected poor visability for that nite, and from the picture in the photo album, looks like I was correct. That was unfortunate! You should be applauded for opening your home for the event, and have my gratitude, even though I didn't attend. I unfderstand it was the best meeting yet, and the club thanks you. I'm sure that you'll run across me before the Pitt. show, and when you do I'll be fishing. ,,

The best part about the report is all of the fish caught have been released . And secondly I know that there is at least twice as many that were not reported that were also released . I guess we are starting to fullfill some of our goals and in no time we to shall have a 50" club also. Musky Matt L

As of 10/28, the club contest standings are as follows: Local (club) waters; M. Lysek-6 fish-421/2 pts. C. Jones Sr.-3 fish-36 pts. G. Ridge-3 fish-31 pts. C. Jones Jr. (in the junior division)-2 fish-25 pts. Overall (includes waters outside the club area) G. Ridge-4 fish-44 pts. M. Lysek-6 fish-421/2 pts. C. Jones Sr.-3 fish-36 pts. T. Sabia-3 fish-321/2 pts. There has been a total of 46 fish reported, by 11 members, from 10 different venues. By reading the club website, it seems that many more fish have been caught than have been reported. THIS IS A PROBLEM! At the end of the year we present a report to the fish commissions, that will indicate the health of our fishery. Where we need a shot in the arm, or possibly a major operation. How many are interested in improving our fishery. If you're not interested in having your name and results splashed all over the website, mark your form "do not post", and I will honor that, but we will still have the info. for the year end report to the fish copmmission. I hope that every one catches a lot of big fish, AND that they REPORT them. Fred Jones SR.
