Muskies Inc Chapter 50 Meeting
1-21-06 at Cabelas, Hamburg, PA, 8AM

AGENDA

A. Reports
1. Release reports  -  big winners were Matt Lysek in Master’s; Tom Long in Local. Tom Long also won the Overall Division. Junior Division was won by Rachel Lysek. Chuck Jones’ 46" Hybrid was the largest Tiger and Archie’s 48" St. Clair monster was the largest Pure. 15 members caught 91 fish! Bob Jones is officially a Century Club member of Muskie’s, Inc., having caught his 100th Muskie this year. Tom Long moves up into the Master’s Division, to try to conquer the world a second time.
2. Treasurers report  - treasurer’s report was read, and will be posted when received electronically..

B. February Cabela's Seminars
1. Are we having it or not? Yes, Tony Grant will be here at a cost of about $750.. He will do a seminar. There will be a river fishing seminar and a Muskies 101 seminar.
2. How are we going to advertise it?  Website advertising, Cabela’s will put the seminar info on one of their flyers.
3. How are we going to turn it into a profitable fundraiser?  We will raffle a guided trip, a cradle, a starter pack of Muskie Lures, a Rod and Reel. This will require the sale of over 200 raffle tickets at $5. each to make it a break even event.4. Who is going to do seminars and on what topics?
5. How do we tie this in to promoting the musky school? We will have flyers out on our table.
6. Hand out flyer's proper release growth etc .
7. Other ideas? 

C. Goals For The Year
1. Stocking pures; How do we make this happen?
2. Advancing our involvement with the state; Committee was formed to speak with Mike Kaufmann – Bob Jones, Tom Long, Tom Sabia, Dieter Scheel
     a. Minnow money? – We are waiting for direction from the biologist and hatchery manager.
     b. Volunteering to clean the hatchery? – The hatchery will not let us do anything. The unions involved with the hatchery would not allow us to pick up a broom.
     c. Hold over fish – Waiting for Larry Hines to make a decision.
     d. Other ideas? The state is willing do a co-op with us for a raising pond. Tom Long has the property and the ambition. The club will have to provide the manpower and money to make it happen. The goal is to release 13-14" fish.
3. Other Ideas – Structure placement and construction. Sebastian Musameci and Tom Long will look into Muskie spawning area enhancement.

D. Elections
1. Description of responsibilities - Bob said that this has already been gone over.
2. Nominations. Greg Ridge was nominated as Regional VP, Damian was nominated as Tournament Director, Tom Long was nominated as Vice Stocking Czar. Matt Lysek was nominated as Vice President and Steve Grim was nominated as Treasurer. Joe Tarditi has agreed to stay on as NJ representative.
3. Other Ideas?

E. Miscellaneous
1. News from the state – We, as individuals, need to send letters to the state, this needs to be in writing, not an e-mail.
2. Spring Tourny dates and locations;  Barbecue was voted over having food at a bar. It was decided that we would do a internet poll to decide the location.
3. Antons outing; last weekend in April
4. MI50 logo; internet poll will be taken to decide the top 3, committee will decide from there.
5. Other business  -  Musky School – It was decided that we should let the client pick the body of water. The club will pay $50. towards a replica of the largest fish caught during. The Muskie School.
6. LURE RAFFLE!!! 8 donated lures were raffled off and a total of $220. Was raised for the club. Thank you to Eric Ravikio for his generosity in donating most of the lures.
