Looks like we have the apporval from the PFBC to do a rescue below the lake. They are giving me a window to get the fish out. I can honestly say that I'm going into this blind. I do not fish the creek below the lake and have never walked it. I do know that it is very small and fish are being caught/snagged out of it during the last couple of days. One person mentioned they seen 9 in the creek this past weekend, but this is also a convicted deer poacher in Pa (yea, thats what im dealing with). I plan on doing a scouting trip or 2 this week and get some intel. I asked for the window to start on Sunday June 8th. By Sunday there could be 100 fish, or 1 fish left, so I will have a strong line of communication to relay any changes.

If you are interested in helping, feel free to contact me. I think a good meeting time will be 10 am at the main boat ramp. I would like to start at the spillway being that the fish are probably try to get back in the lake, and then work our way down the creek. I have been discussing this with tom, and I will be gathering the needed materials before the rescue. I have a few people lined up already, but the more the better. Im hoping to take care of most of the problem on Sunday, and then get the stragglers out during the following week.

Calling is fine, but texting is better, thing are busy with the end of the school year. 717-395-0341. Thanks!

I just called the park office today about this. I'm heading over tomorrow to try to meet with the park manager, Brent Fromm. I'm hoping to get in on Friday and get some fish out. I'd love to help with your efforts, please contact me! My info is below:

The local WCO and some "volunteers" walked from the bridge to the damn and seen no fish (About a 100 or so yard stretch). With that being said, they do not want us in there trying to recover any fish. I explained to them there is fish below that strech, but have not recieved a response. I would love to just go and do this, but with the fuss I made over people snagging fish, I think I and the club would receive negative feedback if caught doing a rescue. Working with SC PFBC must be a bit more difficult then working with the SE.

I know this weekend is busy, but if water temps stay where they are I was thinking of putting a gathering together for June 14 or 15th. I have a friend that owns a pretty cool bar back in the woods called the log cabin (which is right down the road from the lake). Fish the day, and then hit the bar for dinner and drinks. Send me a message if interested. This place is covered in tigers. You are going to see fish for sure!

I stopped in the park office today and talked to the park manager, Brent. He told me to contact the local WCO. He also told me that the WCO pulled a 39 out from under the bridge in front of the park office yesterday and took it to the lake. With the amount of flooding we've had in the last couple weeks, the fish could have made it the whole way down the creek to the river.

I 100% agree with you. A rescue needs done, but the state doesnt want to approve it because the WCO said there was no fish in there. However this sounds like the second fish that he pulled out in the past week. He also pulled some largemouth out.

After talking with the biologist (Kris Kuhn), he said keep an eye on the creek next spring and he would send his crew in there to do a rescue.

If anyone else would like to contact the state and ask if we could get fish out this year, be my guest. I would be 100% behind you, and will volunteer my time. Ive been talking with a half dozen state employees and have not made too much progress. Its kind of disappointing.
