February 19, 2004
May 5, 2004 Meeting Minutes
Officers in attendance: Bob Jones, Chuck Jones, Archie Roche
Total Attendance: 12
Discussions:
1) Treasury reports that we have 1730.00
2) President Bob Jones has spoken with PFBC Area 6 Fisheries Manager, Mike Kaufmann, as well as PFBC Warmwater/Coolwater Production Manager, Marty Marcinko. Indoor tanks are being sent to Pleasant Mount Hatchery, and we may be able to hold over fish in one of these tanks. Marty advises that a new type of feeding pellet has been ordered, and that it will be better than what they are currently using. Marty agrees that feeding them minnows prior to them being stocked, as well as float-stocking, are keys for Muskies to do well. Bob Jones was highly encouraged by his conversations with Mike and Marty, and believes that the Fish Commission really wants to turn the Muskie fishery around.
3) May 23rd Chapter 50 Muskie Tournament is at Nockamixon from 7am to 2pm. Register at Tohickon at 7am. Fee is 15.00 per man. Open to anyone to participate. Members are encouraged to take someone who does not have a boat. Anyone that does not have a boat, and wants to partner with someone who does, needs to drop Bob Jones an email or call. Following the tournament, we hope to have food and drinks for the participants and their families.
4) The possibility of a research outing to Beltzville in June was discussed.
