The May 3 meeting at my house has been canceled by agreement of the officers.
The officers will shortly be scheduling a work session to iron out a number of issues. Select commitee members may be asked to attend this meeting, but we are going to try to keep the number manageable so that we don't get bogged down. The idea is to get a lot done in a short amount of time. Among the items to be discussed will be job descriptions for the officers, club budget, club charter, short term and long term goals and various other items.
Any member who has a "big issue" that they would like addressed at this meeting, please contact me and I will include it on the agenda.
I look forward to participating and then reporting the results of this meeting to the membership.

How dare you think that these issues are solely to be decided by the officers. Budgets and goals should be discussed by all interested members, not just the officers. This is not a corporation where the board of directors make all of the decisions. This is a group of guys who put their time and money into improving a sport we all love. Just because some of us didn't want to be an "officer" it doesn't mean that we shouldn't have a say in what happens.
Unfortunately this thread was started in the "general" section of the message board or I would have had much more to say.

Gentlemen, I have to apologize to Dieter as he and a few others felt I was throwing him under the bus. My post was meant in the plural for all the officers, not Dieter in specific. As you can see, I have strong feelings about certain topics being discussed in private. I now understand the nature of this meeting and wish to offer my apologies to anyone else that may have felt the post was wrong. This meeting will certainly be a good thing for the chapter and it hopefully will help focus our energies and finances to a positive future.

Hey,
While I'm not sure exactly what this meeting will cover, I'm sure the officers will not waste their time on issues that aren't of importance to us all. Its just as well the meeting on the 3rd has been canceled because I was going to be out of town that day anyway. Just let me know if there's anything needed from moi and I'll wait to hear what was discussed.
