Meeting Minutes – February 2005
1) Treasury report: 2004 End of Year total: 3671.00 less 696.71 expenses, $2974.21
Expense Summary: Hackettstown donation, tourney insurance,
Calendars, and float stocking aeration gear
2) Raffles will be printed up soon. 1st prize is a Greenwood guided trip/Anton’s stay or 150.00. 2nd prize is Raritan Bay Guided Trip with Chris Gatley or 100.00. 3rd prize is a Shimano Rod or 40.00. Ticket prices have yet to be determined as we are considering bundling options such as 3 for 10.00. Bob Jones will have tickets printed and mailed out to all.
3) Tom ‘HoHo’ Long has been promoted from chef to Tournament Director. Spring Tourney is scheduled for May 21st at Beltzville. It will cost 20.00 per person and is open to public.
4) Matt ‘SeeMonkey’ Sabia will produce a news letter for non Internet using members. Issues will be mailed in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. A copy of same will be posted on our web site.
5) Reports were handed out at the meeting detailing our club catch totals for PA, and copy of same is being sent to PA state officials.
6) We ask everyone to save one work vacation day for a float stocking day. Currently, it is the best way we can help PA improve the fishery. We will let you know the spring time days as soon as we know them.
7) NJ, Fishmaker, will let us know when/if they could use our help. They currently do a lot of float stocking.
8 ) We have ordered a 38 inch rubber muskie reproduction from Lax Taxidermy. It should weigh as much as the real thing, and will be used in a variety of different ways including release seminars and shows. It may take up to 6 months before we receive same.
9) In an effort to spread club awareness, we are looking for fishing flea markets to attend. Please post any info on the board.
10) Alternating club meeting locations is currently being looked into. We are thinking of a bar/pizza meeting in the King of Prussia, PA area because of its close proximity to the major highways, and then the next month back to NJ Sportsmen’s Center. This would continue to alternate on a monthly basis.
11) Cave Run- March Madness – members are heading down between March 12 and March 19th
12) We are asking all to keep a personal fishing log that includes dates, time fished, body of water, catches, and follows. This info will be compiled and given to PA official Marty Marcinko.
13) The Reports section of the web site message board will be restricted to muskies inc members and Fish and Game Officials. We will need to make a conscious effort to participate in the upper ‘open’ section to keep potential muskie fishermen (and members) interested and educated.
14) Matt ‘Musky Matt’ Lysek will head up the Muskie School effort for the fall.
15) President’s goals… two of them for this year.
1) in the western part of PA they have ‘holdover’ experiments going on. We
would like to have a holdover lake on the eastern part of PA.
2) PA chapters of Muskies Inc join together to convince the state that they need to raise the 30” minimum size and lower the 2 fish limit.

The rubber fish from Ron Lax is a great idea could we also ask for some business card to refer his fish reproduction sevices to hand out to the occasional fisherman that you and I see catch a 36" muskie that has no idea the fish is not a trophy that might keep to put on his wall it might be an easier sale for a release. we can keep a card in our tackle boxjust a thought. musky matt <<<<><<<
P.S I can see it now that will be Bobs new teddy bear ;D
