I don't believe that the guy even caught a muskie. The story changed so many times that it seems like someone that was trying to drum up business for the tackle shop that reports in the Fisherman every week that muskies are jumping in the boat at Mercer. It doesn't matter what time of year it is that's what they say. Believe me, they aren't jumping in my boat there. I got a ton of trips there with little to show for them.
Methinks it was a phantom fish.

thats what i thought also. Ive fished there alot, all times of the year and caught,saw and almost got stuff. always fun,and see alot of cool things. Just not that monster fish. On another note, i caught my first muskie with the spot hidder (ha ha) in 5/?/06. muskie school, 34" . on mercer. been chasin ever since.. oh yea from the bank, or walkin in the water. we had an excellent day! thanks again Matt. i finally said what the heck, and pulled the trigger and got involved. once i figure out how to work this thing better ill feel better! white sand and pine trees!
