Currently the MI22 site is updating the message board. We are asking that all Muskies Inc. members that are currently using the message board, to update their information.
We are asking everyone to update their email address and to put their full name in their profile. You may still use a screen name, but either in your "signature" or under "Custom title" you must enter your full name.
This was discussed at our May Muskies Inc meeting and it was agreed by the officers that in order for our members to be able to view the reports section of the board everyone would have to have their full name so that we can verify membership. The deadline for updating their information was Aug. 31, 2006
This is one of the benefits of being a member of Muskies Inc. in an effort to be true to our members we will be revoking rights to the privilege section if you have not updated your profile with your current email address and full name for verification.
If you have allowed your membership to lapse we have to revoke your privileges until you're current.
Let me take the time now to walk you thru how to update your profile.
1. At the top of the message board home page click on "profile"
2. Under "Modify Profile" click on "Forum profile information"
3. On this page you will see "custom title": and signature: You may enter your full name under the custom title or you may enter it in the signature section.
4. After you have entered your full name at the bottom of your profile page click on "change profile" and now click on "home" at the top of the page and click on "profile" and view your profile to be sure that your changes have been updated.
5. While veiwing your profile verify your email address is your current email address, if you have changed your email address you need to email me with your current email address and user name and I will make the proper changes, my email address is jpy62@earthlink.net
If you are experiencing any problems with updating your information feel free to contact jpy62@earthlink.net for assistance.

Now that I went on 22's site I see what they are doing.
How would our membership feel if your full name was listed on every post?
Do we like having the anonimity of a screen name or do we want everyone that accesses the site to see our real names?
It would be good to update the site, but I think a discussion should happen first.

Yeah Barry,
The officers at Mi22 feel that being able to use the privileged section of the message board is an added benefit for being a Muskies Inc member.
Also with everyone having screen names (not saying that is a bad thing) you really don't know who it is your speaking to on the board, By updating with your name it may be easier for everyone to get to know one another.

Two thoughts, (1) Anyone from our club that logs onto the MI22 website should definitely update the required data as soon as possible. I know this project went into motion a long time ago and the guys at MI22 don't want to erroneously knock out any MI50 member that is logging onto their website (I know I am always checking their website for new info). And second, I agree and think it's a great idea for our website (allows people to tie in names with monikers as well as give everyone the opportunity to expand their relationships beyond the board). Thanks Jeff for taking the time to put up the post. <<<<><<<
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Good thoughts Joe. My beef would be that any Tom(not you Tom), Dick, or Harry would have my full name on my posts. It's not just limited to the MI members section, it shows up on the general board too. I don't feel comfortable having every active member's name put on the internet for general viewing.
But that's just my own paranoia.

(and now everyone will know when I am looking at the 22 site!)
