Bob-
it sounded like guide for a day was just that. cruise around the lake and teach.
why not this:
What would you pay to have a one day 8-9 hour in depth class on muskie fishing where all profits would go directly to the club to raise muskeis for philly region lakes?
The class would cover rods, reels, lines, knots, how to tie leaders etc...
Plus, it would cover fish characteristics, where to find them, selecting good water form bad water, map reading etc... conducted off the water!
You will have some on the water training as far as casting, retrieves to make fish strike, boat positioning and more...
It would be taught by die hard muskie guys with proven success and held possibly at Mercer County Lake in Trenton, NJ.
I have the ability to handle a fee in two ways:
one where its just a class
or
one where everyone gets a rod, reel, 4-5 good lures, leaders (basically a kit to get started).
This fee would be higher as we must pay for the product. But you would get top notch stuff. No junk!!!
Please, Let me know what you would pay or like to see or even if there is an interest.
i was thinking of 200-300 bucks per person depending upon product. here is why, Catered lunch would be handled plus park permits etc and the other business costs of advertising etc...
we could do it in August or september - again, monies go to m 50!

I think these are great ideas to get started I remember when chapter # 22 was starting out and the only water they fished was the big D I went to one of there seminars at the gap they sold muskie book/ maps on the big D and had a few speakers plus took people fishing for a fee all to the club. we should talk more about it get some feed back from all members and see if we can decide how to get started matt L

I think it's a great idea. Once someone lands their first muskie, they're usually hooked for life. Giving somone an opportunity to land that first muskie is a surefire way to grow the chapter. Muskie Hunter magazine has most of their schools sell out. Granted it's in prime waters, but we do have a few fisheries here, that with our support, could become great.
Let me know if I can help in any way.

We may only see what we look for.

thanks for the input. not sure of a price yet. that is ultimately up to muskies inc board members. i think at least 200 bucks is more than fair since they would get a cut to the chase no BS session. It took me and many others over 20 years of figuring this stuff out. tough to give it away for next to nothing.
as for the magazine guys and their schools, it is a funny thing. They all want to come here and fish NJ. Pearson is looking to come next year and some of those other muskie guru's. NJ has peaked their interest.
we have it to ourselves for now
