Musky Guides

Could anyone recommend a Musky guide that would be in the Southeastern Pa area or within a 1-2 hour drive. Or if there would be a member here that would be willing or interested in taking me out musky fishing (We could use my boat), I would really like to go out with some of you experienced musky anglers to pick your brain and get as much info as I can. I really learn the best buy doing and being on the water with people that know what they are doing. Any information would be greatly appricated.

Thanks for your time.
Its nice to still be connected even being away from home. Lake Erie is looking good.

I've only been muskie fishing for about two years now, and I live in MD, so with that said...

I thought about someday being a muskie guide, but the one big question is this: "Does any muskie fisherman, who has some good muskie spots, want to publicize his/her spots to a stranger?".

I think it's reasonable to think about being a guide in the mid-West, but with so few places to fish in PA/NY/MD, it makes the above question a big factor.

Thoughts anyone?

its one thing to know where the fish are, it is another thing to catch them. if you want to find out for yourself goto mt lake there are fish everywhere there, but few people can catch them.(on a regular basis anyway)
me being one of those who cant.
being relatively new to hunting myself i thought about hireing a guide, not to learn his/her "milk run" of spots, but to learn proper techniques for working lures, doing figure 8's, holding/handling fish, leaders, etc. (maybe that is why 22 wont let me post on their site because they dont want to learn the hard stuff)
again i am new so, if i am wrong someone please correct me,but the hard part is getting the fish to bite and stay hooked not where they are.
that said i think it is alot harder to find fish in a river than a lake, but what do i know :-

By no means did I ever want to do this to find your hot spots... Because i'd never disclose my as well. i just want to learn techniques and your thought processes thats it.

If "anyone" takes somebody out as a guided school it's got to be a "club" Muskie school and "all" donations go to club. It is the best way to cut your learning curve in half if not more.

This is not intended to compete with Chapter 50's musky school!!!!!

If any of you are interested I do guide and I will teach you how to hunt musky on local waters. I've been doing seminars at Cabela's for years and was at their Captains Weekend this past spring.

Winding down my 2010 season but I will consider taking you out before ice over. The focus will be on tactics, presentation, boat control and turning ten thousand casts into one. Right time, right lure, right presentation....

See post on converting follows.

Musky Squadron....

the fine line of success.

YOUR RIGHT... MY BAD FOR NOT BEING CLEARER!!!! I STATED THAT I "WOULD CONSIDER TAKING YOU OUT BEFORE ICE OVER". IT'S BEEN AN OFFER THAT I HAVE POSTED ON OUR MESSAGE BOARD FOR CHAPTER 22 MEMBERS THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. LAST JUNE MEMBERS SIDE OF OUR BOARD I POSTED AN OPEN INVITATION TO ANY CHAPTER 22 MEMBER TO JOIN ME ON MY VACATION WEEK. I WAS NOT CLEAR IN WHAT I POSTED ON YOUR MESSAGE BOARD.

LET ME AGAIN ATTEMPT TO EXTEND THE OLIVE BRANCH BEFORE YOU GUYS THROW ME UNDER THE BUS.... ANY CHAPTER 50 MEMBER INTERESTED IN JOINING ME ON THE WATER IS INVITED TO DO SO!!!!! INVITED MEANS GIVE ME A CALL. I WAS INTERESTED IN HELPING THE NEW MEMBER OUT. I THOUGHT I MADE THAT CLEAR WHEN I ATTENDED THE MEETING AT CASEY'S EARLIER THIS YEAR.

MY STATEMENT OF NOT INTENDING TO COMPETE WITH YOUR MUSKIE SCHOOL MEANS JUST THAT. THE OFFER IS ONLY INTENDED FOR CHAPTER 50 MEMBERS NOT NEW MEMBERS THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO RECRUTE FOR YOUR SCHOOL. THIS INVITATION STANDS FOR ALL MI MEMBERS UNTIL I QUIT FISHING. LAST FALL CLIVE MATHIUS CAME DOWN FROM CANADA AND I TOOK HIM OUT.

IF YOU GUYS ARE STILL PISSED AT ME I TRUELY AM SORRY AND RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT I WROTE.

I ASKED THAT YOU POST THIS AND MY CONTACT INFO ON YOUR MEMBERS SIDE OF YOUR BOARD AS I AM SINCERE IN MY OFFER.

Respectfully,
Cal Huntzinger

Again my offer stands to any MI 50 member, new or veteran. Sorry for my error and you are correct, the same typed message can be interpreted many different ways. I still should have made myself clear from the start and I did not. Again my apologies.

Thanks guys... didn't mean to step in it. By the way did any of you see the post that I made trying to help the guy out with "follows and break offs". You'll find that if you take that rod tip down and set up for your figure eight, before you see your lure, you'll close on more hook ups rather than hellos.

Life is crazy. I really appricate all the responses. Long story short, I had a stroke and have been recovering. I hope to be back to work and fishing by the end of Feb. Once my license is cleared I would like to meet all of you at Casey's as I stated back in September.

I really hope to meet all of you guys and learn from you. Do you have a booth at the Show in Oaks?
