I just looked at the stocking list in 2004 for the Schuylkill River and saw that the fish commision is stocking both Tiger and Pure breds from Maiden Creek to Alleghany Creek. Could we actually be getting a viable Pure bred fishery locally?? I caught a 33" pure bred last year and am still uncertain of my biggest fish of this year, but this is the first time that I can remember seeing that the PAFC is actually saying they stocked purebreds in the Schuylkill. Could make for a nice fishery in a couple of years!!!
They are also stocking a lot of counties this year on the North Branch of the Susquehanna for those of you who fish it!!!
