Greetings! New guy introduction via a forum post. My name is Bob Foss, and I live in Nottingham, PA. My wife and I moved here from Minnesota two years ago. Started muskie fishing 31 years ago when a guy took me to LOTW out of Nestor Falls, Ontario and I caught two my first day. Been hooked ever since.
We have lived in multiple different parts of the country, but almost every year managed at least one week up on LOTW, most years it was two. For the old timers, when I was in my mid to late 20's I ran the "Muskie Fever" mail order catalog for the Thorne Brothers. Pre-internet, sold stuff via a catalog, toll free # and sportsman shows.
Prior to us moving to PA, I sold my boat, was convinced we would get a bigger boat for the Bay. Chartered a few times didn't like it, so this spring I bought an oldie but goodie '95 Ranger 681T that I am slowly bringing back to life as a dual purpose walleye / muskie machine.
I travel for work, so haven't made it to a chapter meeting yet. While still planning on two weeks a year in Canada, excited to get started fishing local waters. Doing some research there appears to be lots of options, including the river 20 minutes from my house.
Looking forward to eventually making it to either an event or a meeting in the very near future.
Thanks!
Bob Foss

Welcome Bob. Your timing is good since Muskie fishing in PA and especially Southeast PA is better than ever. Our club meets in Quakertown PA the first Weds of every month except July and Aug. We have a few weeks left this year before water temps start hitting 80-85 degrees when we stop fishing our lakes. Sometime the river temps are cooler and remain stay active a little longer.

Bob,
Welcome to the club. It is nice to have a new member that is as experienced and committed as you. It is always good for the club to have someone that knows the value of the work we do and can bring informed insights to the plans we make and try to bring to fruition.
I do not make as many meetings as I used to but it is a great way to meet members and to stay in touch with what the club is doing. So, again, welcome to the club and I hope to either catch up with you at a meeting or possibly out on the water.

Welcome aboard Bob! Great to have you with us. As the guys have mentioned, you'll find some great opportunities here in Southeast PA. The club has put a lot of effort in stocking here locally over the years.
Hope you make a club meeting. We're on break for the summer. No meetings in July and August. Meetings esume again in Sept. There will also be some stocking opportunities on our local waters in mid to late Oct. We can always use extra help. Maybe you can make one of the stockings this fall.
Who knows, I may have placed a few orders with you back in the day at Thornes! 😀 Hope you get to LOTW's this summer/fall or both. A special place indeed. Post some pictures of your refurbishing efforts of your new fishing boat as it progresses.
Again, great to have you with us. I know you'll bring a lot of knowledge and information to our chapter!
