This message is for those of us who have fished or plan to fish jersey stocked waters.Craig at the hacketstown hatchery has put out a request to ch 22 for help with minnows.I would love to cut a check out of the 50 account but do not consider us ready for that financialy and not wise at this time.I am donating 100 dollers out of my pocket to help them out.I have caught a lot of muskie from water such as Greenwood,Monksville, hopatcong and Mercer along with the NJ stocked Delaware river.I would not ask any one to donate an amount beyond there means. But think about how nice it is to go to those waters for a great day of muskie fishing and what it would be like if they were not there. If anyone would like to help out,E-mail me at bob@mi50.com and let me know how much you would like to donate.I'll collect the info and send a check out myself. Then you can hit me up at the next meeting or mail me a check.Remember,if we are going to enjoy the resources,we should help support them.Thanks.Bob Jones mi 50 pres

Hey,
Well, anyone who knows me knows how tight I am. With that in mind and, even though I've never fished N.J. lakes but have fished the Delaware, I'll fork over (if I can pry my wallet open) a $50 spot for the good of us all.
I do think it is crucial that we, as a club, start to think about a budget and how the funds that we raise will be allocated to the various fisheries and programs. We all work hard and the purpose of the club, and the fundraisers that we do, is to provide for such expenditures. That's my 2 cents worth and not a penny more!!!!

Note to all:
I cut the check, in the amount of $500.00, yesterday and sent a letter with it to Craig Lemon. At the very end I thanked him for all the great work they're doing in South Jersey.
Hey Craig, that envelope with an Electro-Fast Distribution letterhead is the one so don't trash it!!!! 🙂

Hey MI 50 Guys,
Thank you guys for your generous donation. The minnow guy was here on tuesday morning at 5 AM and dropped off 260 pounds of fathead minnow adults. We split them up into 5 ponds. We put 100 pounds in each of two 4-5 acre ponds just filled. We will wait until we see minnow fry hatching out in them and then stock 4-5 inch building muskies on top of them. We added 20 pounds of minnows to 3 smaller ponds that were set up earlier this spring with Leech Lake Muskies and are currently about 2 inches.
Things are looking good at the hatchery so far this year. We are getting ready to begin float stocking about 25,000 7-inch northern pike next week. That will make room for the tigers and purebreds to continue their growth to ten inches for a scheduled October stocking for the pourebreds and end of August for the tigers. Going to get some sleep and my home computer seems slow so I will continue more tomorrow from work.
Thanks again

Hey Archie,
You guys are always welcome here in NJ or at the hatchery. Anytime you want to visit just give me a call. I am tough to find come August 10th because from then through December 1 I spend alot of time in the trees of Ontario, Wyoming, Saskatchewan, Pennsylvania and of course NJ.
All those grueling hours pay off come fall. Looks like a good crop of muskie this year. Sounds like Tom in PA is having a good year also.
Just a note for you guys, I know you are avid muskie anglers, but Spruce Run Reservoir can provide some decent to good northern pike fishing around Clinton, NJ. We float stocked 6500 7" northerns in their today and have been doing that for many years. I know of some fish in the 43-44 inch range have been caught their recently.
Got to get going, thanks again for the donation and hope to see you guys soon. I will send some pictures on of these days to you for the site.
