Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Tom Cooley and I joined Muskies Inc and the MI50 chapter back in August. I have been fishing my whole life and had an interest in muskies for about the past twenty years. I acted upon my interest as of the past year in earnest. What was once an interest has become an obsession. I went to the past two meetings and must say I felt very welcome there. Everyone was really nice and willing to give advise. I'm looking forward to becoming active and participating in future stockings, lake cleanups, and the outdoors show in Oaks. I'm heading out on Sunday up to Marsh for probably my last trip for the year. Any tips on lure selection/location in this chilly water? I was thinking swim jigs w/paddletail swimbait /bulldogs fished slow? Thanks!

Hey Tom,
I havent made many meetings this year due to travel but maybe I'll see you at Dec's meeting. I think you got it right fishing plastics. Focus on deep points, dropoffs and deep water around timber. I haven't been on Marsh since Nov 9th so cant comment on water temps or what conditions are like. While I have a boat, I have taken 2 muskies out of my kayak over the last few years. Good luck!

Hi Mike, Thanks for the info...will put it to use. I will be at December's meeting so maybe I'll meet you there. I tried fishing for muskie out of my kayak a few times but it seemed a little more practical to use my boat instead. I tend to use my kayak when fishing for bass and catfish or just for recreational use. Nice for sneaking into really skinny water. Hopefully I'll have a nice picture to post.
