I think this might be important meeting to attend . We need to reiforce our thoughts on bumping the Delaware river up to 40" size limit, since this is not a and New jersey has to agree with Pa on this item .

A public forum to discuss freshwater fisheries culture research, management and recreational angling in New Jersey will be held on Saturday, December 2 at the Hackettstown State Fish Hatchery in Warren County. The forum will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The DEP's Division of Fish and Wildlife is conducting these meetings to improve communication with the angling public and to solicit public input in shaping freshwater fisheries programs in the future. The forums are a perfect opportunity for all freshwater anglers to learn about existing programs, and to share their views and recommendations.

Participation in this year's forum is particularly important since it will focus on potential regulation changes for the 2008-2009 fishing season, as well as summarize 2006 sampling and culture activities. Topics cover all aspects of freshwater management, including both warmwater and coldwater fisheries. Come and be an integral part in the development of future regulations affecting New Jersey's freshwater resources.

Professional staff from the Bureau of Freshwater Fisheries will be on hand to answer questions and provide updates on current research, culture and management programs.

Pre-registration is not required but is appreciated, and will help ensure that all attendees can be accommodated. Individuals can pre-register by calling 908-236-2118 or by sending an e-mail to njfwfish@earthlink.net Be sure to include name, address, phone number and the number of people attending.

An on-line version of the preceding can be found on the DFW Web site at http://www.njfishandwildlife.c.....orum06.htm.

I'll try to attend as well. At the Salem County freshwater forum Bob Paxson from NJ indicated that if PA was to raise the DR to 40" or even trophy size 45" that NJ would follow. All good - any turn out to this is always appreciated.

In addition, got a nice email from Craig, aka Fishmaker regarding the Coldwater Fisheries Forum in Jan. He suggested that in addition to financial support (which we've already committed) that if we could donate any custom lures signed by the maker or painter with MI50 and NJDFW somewhere on the lure to commemorate the forum that he could hand these out to the out of state attendees (would make the forum more "NJ specialized" as well as give the out of staters a taste of NJ/PA lure makers). I would be willing to pay for some weagles... Sebastian specials... Arch enemies... any other makers if that helped. He also said if we didn't have any custom lures then raffle lures would help us well. Craigs point is that many of the out of state biologist / hatchery professionals are muskie fisher wo/man as well. He would like to give each out of state attendee a lure. Any thoughts? Thanks J

That knocks our Cabelas meeting off of that date.

Joe T,

How many lures are you looking for? I might be able to help out, but am very busy with lots of other things and as you know my paint jobs take time due to the detail... let me know.. Also need to see if Toddo is able to make me some baits...

Thanks,
SebSkie

I think ten to a dozen is sufficient. I could help supply regular baits if you want to paint em (i.e. grand ma baits in perch). Or we could get a few more guys to contribute would be great. Thanks

I'm sure that Mr. Bill Looney would do a special run of 12 Amma Bama baits for us and discount his normal price if we explain that it's going to a good cause. Joe T. has a great relationship with him and can probably get it set up.

Not that Amma Bama's are not a sweet lure, but why don't we throw some support to our club sponsors who have given us baits in the past. I am sure  there are more, but Steve Warner, Ben Graham(ben-e-baits) and Hawg Teasers have all donated baits. MRG painting too. I think it would be nice to buy some baits from them as a thank you for their support and I am sure they could "customize" it for us.

I agree with greg 100%.If we are going to buy baits lets support those who have supported us.Jake from Grandma lures should be thrown into that mix also.Bob

In addition, Craig wants local bait makers - or lures that we use / club sponsors. So if we can get Warner / special painted Grandmas, a smeagle and any other lure someone wants to donate. This would be huge. Lets assume we need firm dets by month end. Please IM me if you are interested in donating or assisting. I will manage the process. Thanks J
