Hey,
I guess my participation will depend on whether or not I can get this Johnson 4 horsepower/2 stroke back in running condition.
I've got too much oil coming out of the exhaust. I've replaced the seal in the lower unit, the water pump, rebuilt the carb, replaced the recoil spring. Just can't figure out where the oil is coming from. The only thing I can think is that I've got the idle pins (hi and/or low) set wrong. Anybody with a thought on this would be appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm assuming its oil that isn't burning completely. Originally I thought it was gear case oil coming up through the seal in the lower unit, along the drive shaft, and through the water pump. But, like I said, I replaced both the lower seal and the water pump so I'm fairly sure that is no longer the case.
I also just replaced the two plugs and put new gas, 50:1 ratio, into the tank. Like I also said, I rebuilt the carb, is it possible that I'm running too rich a mixture and its just not burning effectively? The oil coming out is black so its being burnt to some extent.
Again, any feedback is appreciated. Oh, and with buying a new boat last fall, the wife ain't going to go for a new engine!!! Damn it all.
