I spoke to the new area 7 fisheries biologist/technician Chris Koons today about the upcoming fish salvage operation at opossum lake.He informed me that this is scheduled to happen mid to late October after water temps drop.He also stated that Fish and Boat Commision personel would handle the salvage operation and the public was welcome to watch not participate.Any fish will be trucked to the nearby conadoquinet creek.check out http://www.opossumlakefriends.org

Steve,

Thanks for the head's up on this issue. I'll have to do a MapQuest of how to get to the lake because I'd like to see what they come up with as well. I guess the liability issues are too much for them to deal with, in so far as having us help them with it?
Regardless, I'll wait to hear more from you on it.

I saw this has taken place. anyone have any idea how many muskies were salvaged. I seen some videos of the salvage on pennlive.com, but could not tell what type of fish were removed..

I was there on monday and tuesday and there was only like 8 muskies captured total both days.7 of the fish were between 34 and 38 inches both purebred and tigers were caught. There was still about 4 foot of water left in there when I left tuesday,I expect they got more on wednesday when the water level was dropped even more.Plenty of bluegills, punkinseeds, black and white crappies, bullheads, perch and large mouth bass were trucked out.
