I thought some of you guys might like to see our favorite fish as a baby. Here is a picture of a 12" Leech Lake strain in my pond at my house. This fish came courtesy of our stocking czar!! She had a smaller sister but the other one commited suicide either chasing a fathead or by being chased by this one. One thing I have noticed, which makes sense fishing for these creatures, is when they aren't hungry, they don't eat. I have seen fatheads use her for cover and swim by her mouth 2 inches away without a movement. But.... when she is hungry and goes into the classic "S" shape, minnows beware!!! I have grown quite attached to her and I have to go see if she is ok in the thunder storm raging outside 🙂
