First the good news. We did not sink nor get swamped. Actually the jet handled the Cave pretty well in less than optimum jet boat conditions.
Pre-fished on Friday and I got a 30" fish on a rattle trap. That was it, no other sightings. That night the weather that killed all those people in Tenn. swept through. Pretty nasty!!
Day 1 -- Windy, rainy and plain nasty outside. Raised a mid 40" fish that actually took a swipe at my rattle trap at the boat but missed. what could have been. :'( :'( :'( :'(
Day 2 -- Coooooold in the morning. Livewell actually froze shut!! Not a single sign of a fish until post tournament when I had a decent fish follow in a rattle trap and spook at the boat.
Tournament results. 232 very dedicated and in some cases, expert musky anglers, caught 19 fish in 2 days. One team doubled (37,39) to take home ~$17,000 in cash. 😮 Big fish was 43.5"
Fun time although the 9.5 hour drive is tough if you don't fish for more than 3 days.
I think my professional career is over before it started!!!

Greg&Tom, I know you had that burning desire to give it a shot, so it's good that you did. If you had a good time and got the bug out of your bonnet it was all worthwhile. I know the CAVE is big but I can't immagine 116 boats. How did the "get in line" go? Give it a rest and maybe try again another time!

Greg & Tom -
Glad you guys made it out of there in one piece! I'm proud of you for fishing a jet against all of those blender-boats.
I can't believe (or maybe I can) that 4 of us spent over 100 hours total fishing time on the Premier Spring Lake in the entire country and managed just 2-30" fish. That lake kicked all of our arses this spring.
I'll be back though...
