Everyone,
At the officers meeting in May, a proposal to identify working/focus groups was brought up. The purpose of these groups would be to take the lead on initiatives relating to the group. Once a strategy was identified, the group would move it forward to the Club Officers for review and eventually the club itself. The goal here is to get different guys from the club involved with the initiatives and to actually move some of these ideas forward. Invariably, some of the groups will need money, so proposals will need to be written and reviewed by the club management. Here are some of the groups identified but others ideas are welcome:
Club Seminars (teaching techniques and strategies, internal and external to the club)
Float Stocking (working with the state, scheduling, buying club equipment to assist stockers)
Fish Co-ops (raising fish to supplement an agreed upon club lake)
Habitat (working with the state on habitat projects, i.e. fish cribs at the Nock)
Musky School (organizing schools spring and fall)
Fund raising (raffles, donations to club i.e. Pastikas Ben-E-Baits etc)
Kids program (scouts, local hospitals, make a wish??)
Working with other clubs (BASS, Trout Unlimited)
Unfortunately I will not be at this meeting as I previously noted due to travel. Try to discuss these issues if there is time. To me, these working groups are the focus of the mission statement and need to be considered as worthwhile endeavors for the club.
