Gentlemen,
I was informed, by our illustrious President last night, that I am in arrears on my dues to the International Headquarters. He informed me that I am not welcome at tomorrow night's get together and will have all rights and priveleges stripped from me. I am, therefore, left with no alternative but to tender my resignation as this chapter's Treasurer.
I do this with a heavy heart and hang my head in shame at not having sent my check in prior to my membership expiring. My wife assures me that she sent it in at the beginning of February and that International has not cashed said check. I feel that this could be a conspiracy amongst members within our midst that have envied my lofty position but have no proof to validate such suspicions.
So, in closing, I appreciate the support and comradery that I have enjoyed in my brief stint as your Treasurer and wish you all the best of luck in your persuit of this ellusive quarry. Might I also mention at this very emotional time that our own President didn't send his dues in until the early part of THIS WEEK!!!! SHAMEFUL!!!!!
