Fish Commission Study

The PA Fish Commission is planning to conduct their third consecutive year of trap netting at Nockamixon Lake for tiger muskellunge/muskellunge in mid April. As soon as the study is completed and the results tabulated, I will post a link to the results.

Today, I spoke with the biologist that helped stock those Fall 2012 fish. The first nets were put out and retrieved - they captured 11 Tigers and 7 Pures ranging. Pures ranged from 25-27 inches / 4.5 to 6.25 lbs. Said they were real healthy looking. Also, said that many were collected in the nets which were placed where he and I float stocked them - might be coincidence - but interesting to note. They will be pulling a second sampling on Apr 22-24. I'm going to try and tag along to get some photos and maybe put together a website article detailing.

Great job on the article Archie. Just awesome the number of our stocked advanced pures that turned up in the nets. It won't be long and they'll be hitting the 30" mark. Thanks for getting out with the biologists and looking forwards to the video!
