<<<<><<< Ok boys it's time to put your muskie where your mouth is. I just got an e-mail from Tom Perkarski at the hatchery, he said the tigers are ready to be stocked. Next Wensday, June 1, at Nockamixon, around 11am, the hatchery truck will be at the marina ramp with 2000 of our little striped friends. Tom said they are about 8'' long. So who can help with this worthy effort to truly make an impact on our muskie fishery. I can't make it myself as I am taking off half of this week to get ready to move this weekend. I'm hoping we can get at least three boats to help out. Two guys per boat is the way to go. If you stock well we will let you fish afterwards!!! ::) So lets get it!!!! <<<<><<< <<<<><<< <<<<><<< <<<<><<< <<<<><<< <<<<><<< <<<<><<<

I'm in, if I can get a ride.I know the lake pretty well.
I've got a drum, if someone has air. If we can't find the other air pump, I'll buy one.
This is a great opportunity. At 8", we'll be able to put those puppies in some nice, unreachable weed beds. Let me know if one of you has room for me.

OK guys, it's looking good. This float stocking sure is an interesting part of the whole muskie experience and in a couple of years we will all reap the rewards.
I have the other pump and two stones. I used them in April and they worked well. Whoever gets them from me will have to have a 12 volt battery to power the pump. I also have some five gallon buckets. I used them last year on the Nock and just made short runs, the guys with the airators can make the long runs.

Tom Sabia,
Will we be able to use the bigger motors for this project?
I'll use my big drum and the aerator, along with my boat's battery. That should give Tom Long and myself plenty of capacity to make couple of big hauls.

Count me in! Thanks Damian for the truck, but I get my truck back in the morning! If you want to come along that would be great though. Maybe we can put some time on the water afterwards!
I also may have access to a 250 gallon plastic container that will fit in the front of my boat. We used it years ago to water trees and it has never had any chemicals in it. I'm just not sure how big the opening is to get the fish in and out. I'll check friday. -Eric

Hey,
Well, I just got my truck out of the shop last night, for the overheating problem that has just recently developed, without a true diagnosis (other than putting a new radiator in). I'm going to try a short run with the boat this weekend to see how it reacts and then will decide whether or not to commit to Wednesday. I hate having to wait another 3 months to get a new truck because if this one overheats hauling the boat then I'm screwed for the summer. 🙁

Deiter, I'm pretty sure you can not run the big motor on the Nock.Time should not be a big factor as long as your airator is working.
Eric, a 250 gallon tank seems a bit big, we don't want to see you sink! 55 gallon plastic drums work really well. If anyone needs drums I can get them or I think Chuck Jones has one or two. Also, I have a pump and two stones, who needs them?
Right now I think these are the people we have helping,
Archie and family,
Chad and Barry,
Eric and Damian,
Tom Long and Dieter
Dave little...on the bubble
Barry, the way you keep them from dumping fish at the ramp is to take them all in the boats. If all the boats have barrels, I'm sure you can get them all in one shot.

Hey Arch, you've done a couple of theses so maybe you could help cordinate.Be carefull not to over load the drums with to many fish.I'm saveing my day/days for the fall.No sence in getting ten boats tomarrow and be short on another stocking.Good luck guys and may the muskie god be with you.O,he is. ;D

roger, roger.
1) any horsepower is ok to run for our stocking ;D
2) bring 5 gal buckets to haul fish to your drum. if you have drum, you will be carrying more so you need air stone
3) if you are using 5 gal buckets, bring lid, towel, or something to cover it up. they are jumpers. 😮
4) don't forget a small fish net if you are using drum. ::)
5) i will have a map and ask you to hit a certain areas
see you at the marina before 11

It was great to get out and do something to help our fishery. Hopefully the Nock will come alive in the near future.
Those fingerlings were pretty feisty with lots of energy. I hope that they will adapt to their new environment with as few casualties as possible. They immediatly took to those lilys. Good to see their natural instinct kick in and go right for cover.
I loved that picture of Damian with the throttle down too. I'm sure we made a few people jealous that day! The extra 800 or so lbs did slow the boat down about six to eight mph though. Nothing like having permission to break the law. Maybe I should look into being a cop! -Eric

Great job guys, you all deserve a beer [&]]. I will keep in touch with Tom Perkarski at the hatchery and see if we can help some more.
Those 2000 fish were the only holdovers,so I don't think we will be float stocking again untill maybe September. I am sure the Muskie God thanks you all for helping!! <god><
