Barry and I will be on Lower Woods. At least that's where we'll start the day! I know we'll finish up at the Red Schoolhouse with a cold beer in our hands! [&]] So would that make us Lower Woodsites?!?! ;D And if you think you are going to beat such a dynamic pair..... {&} Let the fun and games begin!!!

6 people?!?! I thought there were about 20 interested in this! Oh well, it still won't make Barry and I feel any worse about beating the so called "Masters!!!" ;D Surely there are others who want to participate! Come on Chapter 50! Step up to the plate! And if I were after my favorite fish, pickerel, I'd fish Belmont! I have the little darlin's targeted there!!!

I'm going to try to take a look at both this weekend to see which is most conducive for getting around in my boat. It's been a long time since I've fished Prompton and have never fished Belmont. What time parameters are we working with on tourney day? Do we just show up and start fishing or is there some kind of registration in addition to the one mailed in? Also can we get directions to the restaurant?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hey,
Brother Scott and I are planning to go. How do we know where the boat ramps are and the roads to get us there? I'd fish either Lower Woods or Belmont, but I'm down to my last battery and its not in that great of shape. I, therefore, would probably want to fish Prompton.
Again, we need exact locations of boat ramps and the location and directions to get to both the lakes and the restaraunt.

I can provide directions to the lakes and restaurant. Is anybody coming up via a route other than 476? If not you will want to get on 81N. When you reach the point where 81 opens to about 6 lanes, remain in the righthand 3 lanes. Then be in the left lane of those 3. Take the Carbondale exit which is what you will do if you are in that left hand lane. Follow this highway to the stop light in Waverly. It will be the first light you come to.
If you are going to Prompton, proceed straight ahead several miles to route 170. Turn left and go to the boat ramp sign. You will first come to a Prompton turn off, but it only goes to the dam head and some parking lots. The boat ramp is a couple more miles down on the right. To get to the restaurant from here, turn right as you exit the ramp area. Follow this to route 247. Turn right and go to the intersection of 247 and 670. The restaurant will be kitty corner on the right.
To go to Belmont or Lower Woods, turn left at the light and go to the next stop sign. (several miles) You will intersect with route 247. To go to Belmont go straight ahead on 247 south about 1/2 mile. 247 will make a hard left, but you want to go straight.Go several miles to the stop sign. This will intersect with 670. Go straight through the stop sign about 2 miles. The sign for the Belmont ramp will be on the right. You'll see the lake before you get there. To get to the restaurant, turn left out of the ramp parking area. At the stop sign, turn left onto 670. This will take you passed the Pleasant Mount Hatchery. Stay on 670 when you get in Pleasant Mount, the road veers to the right. This will take you right to the restaurant. If you were to go straight instead of veer to the right, you would be on 371 and you could follow that to Lower Woods.
To get to Lower Woods, after you've turned left at the light and reached the stop sign, turn right onto 247N. Stay on this (you'll go passed the restaurant) till you reach 371E. Turn right onto 371E and follow this till you come to the sign for Lower Woods on the left side of the road. Follow the gravel road back till you see another sign directing you to the left to the boat launch. Barry and I will already be there catching all the muskies worth netting!!! ;D To get to the restaurant, turn right on the road out of the ramp parking area. At the stop sign, turn left onto 247S. This will take you right back to the restaurant at the intersection with 670. If you were to turn right onto 371W you could go to Belmont.
If you have any questions, I will be at home through and including next Monday nursing a smashed thumb on my right hand back to health. My phone number is 570-689-5608. Call after 8AM and before 10PM. Or just leave a posting here and I'll try to clarify this mess. Good luck Musky Hunters!

Ed- Thanks for putting up the directions.
Kevin and TGK- Fishing will begin at sunup on Sat. morning. No other registration is required. Longest musky over 30" wins.( Please don't beat the fish up trying to get 1/4 inch measurments, this is just for fun.) I think we were thinking of meeting at the restaurant at 4:00 pm. I'll double check on that. A couple of guys have asked about what's first prize.
Maybe if we finally get a winner we can talk about getting a plaque made up.
Thanks-Damian

Local weather folks are calling for partly sunny skies with a high of 68 as per the provided link.

I've been noticing sunrise to begin around 5:30 AM and will plan being at Prompton around 5:00 AM.
The last time I fished Prompton they didn't have any courtesy docks. Has anyone fished there recently to comment if there are now any docks in the water?

Kevin, there have never been any docks at Prompton that I'm aware of. And only the top half of the lake is fishable. Unless things have changed, the bottom (dam end) was closed for work on the spillway. Check the message board when you get there. See you if not on the lake, then at the restaurant. The Red Schoolhouse! Good luck and good hunting!!!
