Ok guys,
I recieved this email and would like to share it with the club. I have been talking with Marsh Creek Bass Club members trying to help them out in anyway I can. I am making and re-finishing a bunch of custom bass lures for prizes or whatever ... I think as a group we can help Ron out....let me know what you think. This isn't about bass or muskie, just about a young angler who is fighting for his life and needs help.
Hello everyone,
Hope all is well with all of you. As most of you know I am an avid fisherman and President of the Marsh Creek Bass Club. One of our junior members has fallen into some bad times. His name is Ron Phillips . Ronnie is 13 years old, a member of the Tri-County Junior Bassmasters and Marsh Creek Bass Club here in S.E.Pennsylvania. Ronnie has been in A.I. Dupont Hospital in Wilmington Delaware since February after being severely injured during a backyard football game. His liver was lacerated which required a liver transplant at which time they discovered he has Leukemia, and although he has had several setbacks along the way, progress has been made in his long road to recovery.
We are trying to help Ron and his family out by having several fundraisers. He has been in an intensive care unit since February 2008 and his expenses are mounting. We need your help, to help this young man in the fight of his young life. I am sending this message out in order to help spread the word. We have set up a web site. http://www.marshcreekbassclub.com/rpbt Please visit the site and join in on the energy to help Ron Phillips and his family. Just to let you know some of the stuff that are in progress along with the site, there are several entities stepping up to join in: Bass Pro Shops, Cabellas, Jack Daniels, NASCAR, Toyota, BASS ESPN the list goes on, just to give you an idea of what I mean by energy. Whatever you can do help, no matter what or how much, will be appreciated. Spread the word!

Hey Seb,
Do you think it is more beneficial for each of us to go onto that website and do what we can or go at it as a group? Let me know and I'll base my decision, on what to do for the kid, according to what you feel is the best way to go, since you're more involved in it than any of us. Thanks for posting it.

As far as us donating as a group or individual, I think the club as a group should make that decision. Maybe it can be brought up at the next meeting? I don't want anyone to feel obligated to donate money. Many are in the situation I am in and don't have the money to donate, but I have the ability to make some decent lures and donate some of my time to help, so I am sure most of us can find a way to help. For the individuals who are in the situation to donate, I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
Matt can this be added to the agenda??

Well after thinking about this a little more I think I came up with a way to raise some money. I already have a couple of baits myself, some donated and working on getting a few more donated (email me if you have in donating baits at SebSkie@comcast.net. I will set up and online auction on the board. I am trying to work out the details, but will post some more details shortly.

Sebastian,
If you would like to do a raffle for a musky trip on the Allegheny River, I would be more than happy to donate one. I would much prefer to do it during the summer when I have the flexibility to fit the winner into my schedule. Maybe even a nite/early morning split-day deal...........
Let me know what you think and we can proceed from there.
