buzz baits

I read an article in the last Muskie Hunter about fishing muskie-sized buzz baits through the aummer slop and I got pretty excited. I have a certain mat of slop in mind that I know has at least one fish under it that I can't get to. Has anyone had any success with big buzz baits? The author in MH was fishing a custom lure that he made on the spot. Are there any good buzz baits out there I should pursue? It looks like the trick is to find one with a flat jighead so it doesn't snag up.

Thanks.

Matt

Hey NJ Matt,
That was the Joe Bucher article and that buzzbait is out on the market. It's called the Buchertail 860 slopmaster buzz and it already comes with a 5" twister tail on it.
It looks pretty awesome.
Goodluck.

There's a really good article in the last issue of In Fisherman about spinnerbaits. Especially around slop. And yes, I have one of Bucher's Slopmaster lures. Plus I like to throw spinners as most other people are doing bucktails. Gives a different look and sound. May not be the pressure lure ski's get used to seeing. Good luck with that son of a gun!
