Hey guys I hail from NE Philly not quite a Musky producing area but have lures will travel. I have donated to the club some years back as I am a long time posting member of the EPFR and some are members here. I'm having spinal fusion surgery on the 1st and will be laid up quite some time. I have been pouring/injecting soft plastic tackle as well as pouring lead jigs but got bit by the hard bait bug a few months ago and itsty bitsy bass baits aren't cutting it. Here is where I'm at so far:

Wanted to get the hard part out of the way before I go under the knife, I was going to make a glide bait but was a little intimidated by the weight/ballast issue not quite there yet so went for a jerk bait instead still needs to be sanded it's a Basswood blank I carved/machined. I sealed it with Envirotex Lite and will be hitting it with Createx Wicked Paint, Lake Nockamixon is my home lake and its full of Alewife and Gizzard shad so will prolly go with that pattern. Well glad to be aboard and look forward to some constructive posts.

Hey Chris,
Glad to have you aboard. I think you'll have good luck with that shad pattern in Nock next Spring. Go with a chrome silver paint for good flash. Although I'mnot sure how large gizzard shad grow. Here's a picture of Koppers Gizzard Shad for reference.
Good luck with your surgery. 8)
