i had the opportunity to get out on the hudson for some stripers this weekend. They are running pretty good at this point and the weather was great. we were out on the water by 5am, and had our first fish by 7ish. great day overall. several fish in the 15lb class, a few 10lb, and lots of dinks to keep us entertained in the down time.
a few fish on the screen...

did manage to break one of my muskie rods however. actually shocked at how easy it shattered. i put it in the rail rod holder and grabbed the line to bait it. admittedly i put some tension on it but no where near what a fish would have done and it cracked. I am going to see if okuma will warranty it as it is only a few months old.

overall great trip and will more than likely go back before the run ends.

Lenny,Looks like everyone had a blast. Thanks for posting. Do they have slot limits on the Hudson? Do you keep any of them?
Yea, it was a great day on the water. No slot limit. One fish over 18". Normally I don't keep anything other than panfish, but I did keep one striper as I have been wanting to try them for quite some time. I'll let you guys know how they taste.
