For me it's going to be cracking the code at Beltsville and Blue Marsh. I just finished reading "The Complete Guide to Muskie Hunting" second edition, by Jim Saric and Steve Heiting. I got it as a X-Mas gift from the moter-in-law. I learned pretty much from it (lots of little tips I never thought of) and really want to try trolling open water more. Apply what Steve and Jim do and turn "open water" to, basins and breaklines as structure. Use schools of baitfish and perch as muskie locator's in these spots. I also want to do alot more night time trolling on these heavily fished and boat traffic filled lakes. But I love those RIVERS!!! LATER ON
ITS NOT THE SIZE OF YOUR BOAT
ITS THE SIZE OF WHATS ON YOUR BUMPBOARD!

There's nothing like the suspense of fishing a topwater at night. You never know when that fish will hit and you have no visual clues as well. It can be nervewracking!
I am going to try a different presentation (top secret!) at the Nock to see if I can hook into something with teeth. Don't know if it will work, but there is only one way to find out.

We may only see what we look for.

More bucktails,more bucktails,more bucktails.
I night fish the Susq a lot during the summer you guys will get hooked on it once you do it for awhile. I will say this keep your decks clear and minimize the clutter through out your boat. All those little thing you can see during the day become tripping hazards at night. Its so much more comfortable at night temps are cooler pressure is less and even when the water gets gin clear it doesn't matter.
One thing different I want to do is get a few of the leaders with the glow in the dark beads on them. I think that will help with stating your figure 8 at the right time.

Before I started targeting Muskies, I did a lot of fly fishing and fly tying. This past winter, I aquired a 9wt rod and tied up a few muskie sized streamers that I hope to have the right opportunity to break out. I'm hoping to use this combo to wade fish and float fish from my canoe on the Susquehanna. I also hope to break the code on Beltzville (aka The Dead Sea), and a few other local lakes such as Lackawanna & Francis Slocum. I'm hopeful this will be the year of catching my first legal sized muskie.

One different tactic that worked last weekend was trolling a regular bulldawg. The muskie I caught doing this was just under 30 inches....so close :). I attached a 1 oz. trolling weight to the main line above a 130lb. flouro stealth trolling leader. Using the line counter, it was back 70 some ft. Trolling the bulldawgs is definitetly a new tactics I want to do a lot more of this year.
