Hey guys, I was just referred to your site by Bushkill Tom from the eastern PA site. I am from just outside Philadelphia and have never caught or even seen a muskie in person. My "home water" is the Schuylkill, which is not exactly famous for its muskie fishing.
In addition, I just graduated college and do not own a boat so chasing muskies has never been something I could really get into from shore. I would love to be able to ride along with some of you boat guys in the future. After looking at your site, I really like what you guys are trying to do here in regards to education, conservation, and improvement of the muskie populations.
Up until this point, I have fished heavily for flathead catfish and stripers. I'm also really interested in making my own lures and hope to start over the winter. Is it ok to attend a meeting as a potential member? I'd like to attend the September meeting in Quakertown, as it is only about an hour away from me.

Romo, you are always welcome at our meetings. Directions are on the site.
I am sure that if you ask, someone would be happy to take you out and show you the ropes. Most of us have temporarily stopped fishing due to the high water temps, but once we get some rain, we'll all be back out there.
See you at the meeting.
Barry
We may only see what we look for.

Hey Romo,
Looks like your into catching large fish, gotta love those big uglies. Musky fishing takes a lot of commitment and you have to be able to put up with long periods of inactivity, but the rewards are the best! Hope you get your first musky soon, after that, you're pretty much screwed up for life. Got muskies on the brain.

Haha thanks for the replies guys. Trust me I am messed up enough with stripers and flatheads. I just feel that I am ready to expand my fishing horizons to even more hallowed species. Muskies and sturgeon have always been two fish that have absolutely fascinated me so I plan on concentrating a lot of my efforts in the coming year on catching them.
Looking forward to the meeting!
