Keep in mind we are not a northern style fishery. In my experience, on lakes, consistent musky tactics this time of year, involve weed growth. A common misconception locally, us that starts first at Lake edge. This is not true in most local lakes.. the first and best weed growth locally, is normally 6 to 12 feet, first. Lakes like marsh Creek and blue marsh, are prime examples. . I think that is because of winter drawdowns. Exposing shallow weed beds to subzero temps, thru winter stifles growth. Take a little peek at your finder, and you will see what I mean. Post false spawn musky will not be found consistently over weedy lake bottom, until a lake thermocline develops.watch your graph a bit next couple weeks. Try a few throws around the first weeds locally, that are in 6 to 14 feet.. u might be surprised. Its been working greatvfor me!!! Btw, my membership runs out soon, and I will leave it expire. I feel I am to sensitive/outspoken to be a part. Please give this a try.
