I am including a link for you here. Caiger's Country Inn, located on the St. Lawrence in Mallorytown, Ontario. This is located just a few miles off the Thousand Island's Bridge and my family and I have been there many times, as far back 30 years ago and as recently as afew years ago. http://www.gananoque.com/caigers/
Ask if a guy by the name of Bill Hodges still guides for them and if he does, ask him about the "Monster Of Van Buren Island." Van Buren is a small island that runs along a channel on the Canadian side and is the site where the "monster" was hooked several times by clients of Hodges some years ago. This fish was never successfully caught having a penchant for busting line and tackles. According to those who witnessed this fish their comments on it's size was well over 70 pounds (and yes, that is world record stuff).
Another great spot that has some bruiser pike and musky is the dropoff in front of Huck's Marina, just a mile away from Caigers. The structure runs from an area 8-10' in dpeth with weeds, to a very fast dropoff to 40' along a well defined weed edge.
Also, on the Lake Ontario end of Wolfe Island there are two major bays, one is Sandy Bay, the other is Reeds Bay.
Reed's has some mega-fish, pike and musky. On the Canadian side of Wolfe Island towards the other end is Irvine Bay which has a nice shoal area right at the entrance to the bay. Some great musky there too.
Aside from these spots there are at least another few dozen I know of but these should do for now. Been fishing the 1,000 Islands since I was 19 (now 54) and through the late 80's to mid-90's we bought our own place on the river just outside of Clayton as we were up there so often. During that period of time I also did some guiding for quite a few guys from PA.
Anybody that has any questions can write me directly (use 1,000 Islands as subject line) and I will try to help you out as best I can.
Again, good luck and tight lines! Al B.
