Hi everyone I'm Matt and a member of chapter22. Just found out the other day that you guys allow us to share info so on that note thank you! I actually used to live in Holland Pa. Bucks County and absolutely love and miss the state with family members in the Pocono's. I'm trying to put together a trip this fall (October, November) down south to either Cave Run or Stonewall Jackson and just trying to find out if any of you guys have been or have any info at all. A short intro and then interrogation on info is not the best way to start off but again another member told me you guys allow jerz guys on the website so here i am! Any info/ experiences will be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Hi, throwing out a blind request for info about stonewall or cave run isn't going to get you anywhere here...youngster >:( And what's this about allowing jerz on the site...hehe, we love our neighbors to the east. I guess there's not much online chat in pa/nj muskies... Share any info you like, it's an open forum, welcome

I have fished the cave for years and have done fairly well. Tony Grant and his guides work hard to put you on fish. The lake is 8,400 acres and has a good population of muskie. I am going again in late October for the full moon. I talked to Tony this week and the lodge ( 7 rooms) is booked for the last two weekends in October. I have fished it in November also and have done well all the way to Thanksgiving.
I have never fished Stonewall but I know there are big fish there. From where I live it takes 10 hours to the Cave but only 5 to Stonewall! One of these days I'll stop at Stonewall. Good luck with your decision!

Me and a Friend made a trip out to Stonewall a few years ago. When we got there the lake was up 5ft-6ft and very muddy. That being said the lake looked awesome.Lots of narrow arms filled with standing timber. We talked to a local who told us fish are few and far between, but, when you get one its a TANK.

I've been to Stonewall once a few years ago, but it was to attend a wedding. I made sure to take a few casts off the bank anyway, but no luck. That being said, I know the lake does have big muskies in it. The lake has many sections and fingers, not just a large expanse of water. Beautiful area, but I'd do some Google research or look at lunge log to fig out what works there, as it is a large lake. Also, check out the WV DNR website.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have heard the same on stonewall as you guys. Now Stonecoal is supposed to be deeper, smaller and even less numbers but stock alot of trout.(to feed the musky of course :o) Their was a few vid's on youtube and the place does look beautiful. My buddy and i wanted to camp and stonewall aparrently has campsite at the stonewall resort. Looking at Cave run looks pretty awsome. I think its safe to say they have numbers and size as well just its just a further hike. Decisions Decisions
Thanks guys!
