Hi All,
This story is from “last year”…
Ben and I did a St. Lawrence musky trip in December, it was cold but a really fun trip. Here are some pics….
I didn’t hook into any muskies on the trip, but Ben got three. The fish were caught slow trolling crank baits and staying right on the break lines.
The first picture really says it all, it sums up the joy of musky fishing on one mans face. We decided to crash into some soft ice and take a lunch break the one sunny day. Ben even took his hood off and had to put the shades on! As you can see, he was really excited to catch muskies. One thing about Benny, is he sometimes goes by a secret name and makes bass and crappy videos, he’s one crazy dude. Don’t get me wrong, he is dialed in on the largemouth. Cold muskies are another story. He was even complaining about his hands being cold after releasing a couple of skis, which makes sense though because those Tennesseans don’t fish the really cold water too often.
;D
Ben, your a good fishing buddy. [&]]
BTW, Tennessee has great musky fishing, I’m going to Knoxville in a few weeks for my work, and may have to stay an extra day for “business”, anyone know of any good guides in the area.

Looks like a nice warm day of Muskie fishing - complete with steam rising from the water.
Nice work.

The "smoke release" and "tail swoosh" are my favorite pictures, the water is gin clear and you can see down 20 ft. Trolling through huge ice chunks can really wreck the line, luckily we didn't have anything break. Also, I noticed a really big difference in the amount of ice build up on rod guides after re-spooling with fresh 80 lb. power pro, new line brings in significanly less water and less problem freezing.
Good luck fishing this weekend everyone, I wish I were in PA right now. {{0} Should be some fish caught this weekend, can't wait to see the pics. 🙂
