I picked several 6 ft. long 2X4's of cedar to build a casting platform for the back of my boat (man that stuffs expensive). And I think I'll have pretty much left over afterwards. I would like to carve out some lures. Aren't the Wishmasters made from cedar? Maybe I could carve out some huge trolling lures? What types of lures would be best made out of cedar? {{#%}}

Crank baits and topwater lures are usually cedar, It usually takes to much lead to make gliders from it .

I believe there's a baitmaker in WV that uses cedar for his glide baits.... Ssshhhhh --- HRs

Hey, I don't think the makers of HR (huges river?) have anything to worry about with my "expert" lure making techniques. I'm just thinking that while I have the good wood (that sounded bad ;D)...might as well make some muskie lures.
