Hello
I bought one of those pflueger trion L66 reels to try to my luck with some muskies on hopatcong. I spooled it up full of some power pro and when I made my first cast this weekend it sounded like my grandma was zipping up her apron before her sunday uecker party.
Same sound as I reel it in. The noise alone probably scared the fish to colder waters. I couldn't figure what the hey was wrong with the thing, if anything. It's a basic reel with a drag and push button cast release. But when line goes out and comes in I hear zippers a zipping like no other.
Do I need to return this, smack it a couple times with a hammer, or do you think there should be some invisible switch I overlooked?
Holla for the CPR!

Hey,
Perhaps someone more knowledgable could answer this better, but it sounds to me like you have a bait clicker on that reel that needs to be turned off. I know AbuGarcia has their control on the edge of the reel housing but I'm not sure about Pflueger. Read your owner's manual and see if the reel is equiped with one and, if so, where it is located on the housing. Good luck
