I have one that i've used on occation. It seems to me that if i put some time into it,i would do good with it.The place i think it should shine is trolling open water for suspended fish. The thing is,you need two people in the boat to work it comfortably. If you remind me, i'll bring it in to one of the meetings and make a presentation of it. i use them primarily for walleye on some of the NJ lakes but i have incorporated them into my muskie trolling spread. larger lures are tough but smaller lures work good. i have noticed that every muskie strike on a planer board creates a jostling of the board as opposed to going down like a bobber or slide slowly back like a walleye take.
it is as if a muskie slolwly nips the tail of the lure and hangs on or turns sideways as he begins to take off from his original position.
i use the yellow offshore tackle boards with mono. i have found that the braids ruin the strike pads
good luck with them.
