What's the best lures to throw this weekend fishing Bushkill to Smithfield. I have been waiting for Bucktales its not too early is it ? What else should I throw ? Tom

I dont think its to early for bucktail.Maybe size down a little.Twitch baits and jerkbaits would be my choice.Mantas,cobbs{not hughs rivers ;)},big game twitch baits,warner twitch baits.Good luck Tom.

Bob's suggestions are perfect. I've also had luck at the Smithfield ramp area with ripping and pausing Grandma's. Ripping them helps get them down quicker and the fish have all hit on the pause (a few seconds.) There's always Bulldawgs too. I personally have never had a fish on a bulldawg, but my boat has seen multiple fish days on Bulldawgs at the Smithfield area. -Eric

By the way Tom- Last fall is when I got those giant witches and had a fish miss it. (The Helen Keller of muskies) Check out this months Muskie Hunter on how to make them weedless. I can't wait to give them a shot over some of my favorite weed patches. -Eric

Tom,

If the Delaware is like the Susquehanna, the temps should be in the low 60's by this weekend. To me, 60 degrees is the barometer for bucktails in the early eason.(lower in the fall). Right now, I would have to agree with the pres. and go with Twitch baits and gliders. Maybe a little smaller than normal.
