Hey --
Need some info on fixing a rod... I have a Cabela's IM7 Tourney Trail rod that I have been using for jerkbaits & cranks. Not a bad rod, or so I thought, until yesterday when I noticed that the rod blank has become "un-cemented" from the reel seat. If I grab the lower grip and twist, the entire rod spins around. The design is such that the reel seet remains tight, so I'm not going to lose a reel in the water, but I can't fish it like this either.
I know I can return to Cabelas, but I don't have time to drive up to Hamburg and am too impatient to wait for the mail. What epoxy can I use to fix this myself?

Hey Steve,
Just my opinion but I would imagine any true epoxy would do. The problem I think you're going to have is getting the glue where it is needed and that's between the rod blank (assuming that the blank runs through the forearm, the reel seat and the lower handle) and the reel seat. Just laying a bead around either end of the reel seat may work but that doesn't sound like as good a bond as having it coated on the blank and then slipping it through the seat. Good luck
