Anyone looking for an awesome muskie net, you need to check out the TS116Y on http://www.stowmaster.net
The hoop will fold in half, which makes it much easier to get out of the way. I don’t walk all over it! I store mine off to the side, and when needed, it just pops open. It seems really well built too....with a big hoop and deep net.
I only wish I had made this one of my first purchases when beginning to fish for skies. Trying to hand land or using your striper net is definitely not the way to go. Don’t wait until you accidentally kill a fish because you had it out of the water too long, or it was flopping around on your deck, or your rinky-dink netting tore up the fish. With this net you can pen the fish up, catch your breath, unhook it, measure it, get cleaned up, and setup the camera…all while the fish is still in the water in fin-friendly fish pen! Then, lift the fish out for some quick pics, and release her.
PS. Stowmaster has agreed to donate a net in the spring. If you are interested, please consider buying one or asking Santa.

I agree with you archie if your new to muskie fishing a bass net will not work . landing a muskie by hand takes alot of practice and alot of kahunas those teeth and hooks are sharp. a good quality Muskie nets should be part of your basic equipment like hook cutters and long nose plyers to remove hooks clean and safe. Archie showed me his net real nice sturdy muskie net that folds up for storage.Bigger is better I can put my 9 year old daughter in my net laying down , she wieghs about 50 lbs Im just practicing for the big one some day. Having been on Archie's boat and having had the pleasure to land a 45" fish with it I would have to agree completely with Archie's assessment. A big, well built net is and absolute must have for the sake of the fish. I can't imagine a better built net than the Stowmaster.
Even using it under the pressure of landing a huge 'ski, the net popped open and performed flawlessly.

Thanks Archie. I can't wait to try my net out. Yup, there is no substitute for a quality net. This may sound strange, but every time I caught a Muskie I dreaded not having a quality net to take my time with the fish... unhook, release, and pictures. I just bot a craddle at the end of the summer, but my 6 yr old fishing partner couldn't handle the size of a 60" 2 pole system. Hopefully the craddle will find a quality home and the Club will have some money to buy bait / muskies / structure - to enhance our wonderful fishery. 😀
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
