Recently, I noticed some of my favorite baits, that I use often, are beginning to look scraped from the hooks. Matt was saying something at our last meeting that he "T" his hooks. At the time I wasn't sure what he meant, but now I know. My question is , what's the best way to go about doing this? I tried briefly with my vice, but wondered if there might be another way?

Sometimes you've got to "jiggle' it, and sometimes you've got to give it one big

Hey George,
I get 2 pair of vice grips and attach to two of the three hooks at the bend in the hook and just bend the hooks at the same time till i get the bend i want.

Hey Matt,

Do you find that "T"ing the hooks affects the action of the lure? I would think it would but perhaps not in a truly significant way.

I tee my hooks also, but I still get the same amount of hook rash on the bait.

I do it because it exposes more of the hook points when the hooks are against the lure body. I use two pair of plyers that don't have teeth in the jaws (duck bill), that way the hooks dont get scratched from the plyers while bending.
