I just ordered some tools. Mouth Spreader, A GOOD pair of pliers for hook removal, and hook cutters ( i got an expensive pair, i think they were called) How are the knipex brand? I have a crappy pair now, that cant cut a stick, i just hope i didnt get another crappy pair for 50 bucks! AND, is there any other tools i should invest in?

Knipex are the best, they'll cut thru a 6/0 like a hot knife thru butter.
There are 2 different kinds so make sure you get the Kpinex compound cutters.
Either one of these; model #71 01 200

A large net is a must. In my opinion it is the second most important piece of equipment, right behind the life jacket.

If you invested in a pair of Knipex, you done good.

As Barry said, a good net is a must. Something with a knotless or coated net will protect the fish and help your get your hooks (and the fish) out quickly.

I thought really hard about a net. I don't have a boat, so 99% of the time I am walking through brush, or just walking the banks. A net would just get in the way(especially walking throught thick brush). I DO fully recognize the importance of one for a safe release though. I'm sure some of you guys have caught muskies from shore, so, how do you land them? I have never caught one so I don't know what to expect because some fish give up at the bank(stripers), on the other hand, flatheads do barrel rolls, splash you, and swim for their life once they see you.
