Looking to make a purchase on some new batteries. I currrently have one new and one older battery. Not sure if the issue is the weight of my big 50 hp outboard or the older battery. I got the newer battery from Quakertown Marine on 309 a year ago. It's all harnessed in so the only details I can read is it says Exide on the side. I either buy one new Exide or two new "Very Good" batteries that will last all day for me.
Gratefully accepting all battery recommendations, suggestions, experiences, etc... Jeremy, what do you use? Your boat has juice all day long.
Thanks,
Mike D
P.S. I just realized ths post should be under boating. :-[

Do you guys have the the "Group 27 (1200 marine amps) or the Group 30 (1525 marine amps)" AGM's? They're out of the 30 right now which is the biggest battery. They are all still on sale and I have that coupon from the Sportsmans Show for $20 off. Altogether I can save over $100 if I buy before 4/9.

I've never used the Cabelas AGM'S, Roth has and He hates them. I don't know if he just got a bad one or what but its not even a year old and it no longer takes a charge. But hearing the rest of the guys stories they should work. I absolutly love the Interstates. Their $100 each plus you get $15 off of each if you give your old two batteries back as a core charge. Mine are over a year old and I have yet to run them outta juice on the water. Last years Spring Fling I went both days, all day long on the same charge. I never even plugged them in at the campground between days. Interstates are also what we use in all of our plow trucks. You just can't bet them for the price.
ITS NOT THE SIZE OF YOUR BOAT
ITS THE SIZE OF WHATS ON YOUR BUMPBOARD!

I have had two sets of Interstates and now have the 27 AGM's. I was very happy with the Interstates, both sets lasted me over three years each. The AGM's are also very good. In fact I have to almost force myself to not charge them because they last so long. Now, my boat is not as big as some of your boats but I can easily go three days on the Marsh without recharging. I often don't charge my batteries for over a month when i just fish for a few hours at a time over multiple days or weeks.
I would recommend either batteries. But as far as you go Mike,if I were you, I wouldn't be so fuckin' cheap and just get the best fuckin' ones!!! AGM Just sayin'... ::)

I've sold $200 worth of custom wood striper plugs last week raising some cash for the batteries. I may try the interstates. Hell, Jeremy and Stumpy towed me home at full speed one night after they fished all day last Oct at MC 😮
Who the hell's STUMPY ???
No sheeeeet, too funny. I was selling a Stumpy Pencil Popper on a striper site today and typed stumpy in that post instead of Bumpy 🙂
