My opinion is if it's kinked, it's history! I'm not chancing losing a lure, or a pickerel 😉 I mean Musky with an iffy leader. I make my own leaders, so they are cheap enough to replace!

Matt,

That's an interesting question. A) does the thing work and B) is the tinsil strength of the leader material compromised if straightened. I'm sure if, as Ed said, its truly kinked then the strength would come into question. But if, as many of my leaders end up becoming, the leader is arched then I would think that straightening it wouldn't have an impact on the strength. Since an arched leader does effect the way a lure runs it would be nice to have something that could be used to straighten it. Let me know what you find.

I bought one years ago and I used to use it. And yes it does work on minor kinks but if the wire has a 90 degree bend than like Matt said chuck it.
I don't use it anymore because I make my own leaders and it is easier for me to retie a new one on rather than try to get some kinks out of an old beaten leader.

Just remember...if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.
