When: Sat. April 6th
Where: Marsh Creek State Park
Time: 7:00 a.m. - Appx. 10:00 a.m.
Meeting: Meet at the Conestoga Road Bridge
Supplies: I will have some bags there but feel free to bring 1 or 2 heavy duty garbage bags, bring gloves and a trash poking stick or home depot sells them with a pick up device. This will make it easier on your back and some of the stuff you'll find is disgusting
Drop Off: We will need to drop off the trash bags at either the boat rental garbage can area (east side) or by the Lyndell Ramp trash can area (west side). Please do not
just leave them around the lake.
Authorization:This event is logged and approved by the MC Park Offices. Jim Wassall is the park manager. Lisa Miller is the volunteer event
coordinator and she is also aware of our clean up. Lisa has my cell phone number if there are any concerns.
See everyone there Sat at 7:00 a.m.
P.S. Many of us are bringing boats and will be able to take some guys out if you dont have a boat.
Thanks

Great turnout on a beautiful day. It was cold to start around 30 degrees at 7:00 a.m. We had 15 volunteers and the clean up went well. Fishing was as dead as dead can be. That lake if effed up after the draw down. No weeds and all fish still glued to the bottom 20'+. There is no reason for any fish to go shallow. No cover and no forage. Surface Temps 44-47.

Mike,
Thanks for organizing the clean up. It was great seeing everyone. It was a great day to be doing this and it was nice that the water was still somewhat down because it enabled me to reach trash that would I would not have seen or had access to. It is amazing how trash can last for years. I actually found an old Pabst Blue Ribbon can that was of the old pull-top variety! They haven't made those in 25 or 30 years.
I'm glad I didn't bother bringing my boat. I saw a number of boats that were underpowered for the way the wind was whipping the surface. Oh well, at least the next time I'm out there, it should be a more pleasant experience because of the clean up.
