Hey everyone,
Just a reminder that Spencer Berman will be speaking at Cabela's on Friday 3/21. We will be meeting upstairs in the conference room, doors will be opening at 6:30pm and Spencer will be starting at 7:00pm. We will be having a lure raffle afterwards.
I'm looking forward to a fun evening. Please post up if you plan on attending.
Cheers!

Frank and I went to the muskie seminar last night. We got to Cabela's about an hour or so early, so we shopped around a bit. I found it amazing/disappointing that I couldn't find a single item there that my internal bait monkey insisted I couldn't live without. Oh there were several things that I went there wanting, and if the store actually had them on the shelves, I woulda pulled the trigger immediately, but that place is a far cry from when they first opened up when it comes to having things in stock.
But I didn't come on here today to complain about that.
The seminar itself was VERY good. Opening up the show, The MI-50 boys went over the status of affairs with their club and the things they have going on. For anybody remotely interested in fishing for muskie, you should be thankful for all the behind-the-scenes efforts that those guys put into the sport. The main impression I got was that, regardless if you decide to actually join or not, any monies thrown their way by either outright donations, or buying raffle tickets, or any promotional stuff like tee shirts and the like, you can rest assured that your money will be put DIRECTLY towards stocking efforts. I wish our taxes were spent HALF as effectively.
The keynote speaker, Spencer Berman, was not only very informative ( I could insert the word "authoritative" here too as his muskie credentials are pretty darn amazing), but his friendly and humorous personality made the presentation quite entertaining. That all that was offered free-of-charge made it quite the "value meal deal".
I for one am glad I was able to attend, and I personally would highly recommend one of these presentations offered by MI-50 to anyone... muskie enthusiast or not.

A very impressive, well written, piece. It is great to see that the efforts made by this club are reaching people outside of the immediate area. As an entity, mi50 is becoming known as a truly positive force for this resource/sport.
Hopefully, as this piece is read by more and more people, we can get more people that want to join and make a difference. Thanks to those who presented at the seminar.
