I, personally, don't fish much out by Harrisburg but that's not to say there aren't fish out there. I would imagine, if I were to plan on fishing the area, I would look for suitable pools/back eddies, appropriate structure within those areas. If you know of lakes in your area, try going to State websites where you'll be able to learn which are supposed to have Muskies. It will relieve alot of the need to do alot of legwork. You might also try your local baitshops and/or tackle stores and just get to know the people. Often, if you're straightforward and a relatively likable individual, people are happy to at least give you general information that can also cut down on "hit or miss" type of exploration.
The key is lay as much of the groundwork as you can, a.k.a. finding spots that hold fish or are supposed to hold fish, and latch onto them like a pitbull and hit them time and time again. There is no magic that you'll be able to gleen from this site. We are basically just a bunch of guys trying to catch one of the most allusive fresh water beasts known to man. Good luck

thats cool,I was just tryin to be funny ...no offense taken I hope. Thanks for the replies. I have already caught a couple small 'skis (2) this summer which is my first season of actually persuing the fish exclusively. I've got my spots picked out and have laid the groundwork as suggested. I just try to use my other fishing knowledge/techniques and cross them over to muskies its hit or miss and as you all know it can be alot of time and work but oh so rewarding.......thanks again

fish the river man. A lot of huge muskies in there. I just got into muskie fishing this summer and my one buddy and i landed 15 this summer. overall one of the best summers of fishing for me. the biggest of them being 50" long. you just have to be careful while fishing the river b/c of all the rocks and other shit in the river. He grew up on the river and knows most of the area around sunbury which is where we fish. Have not really fished the river much below "the point" but i would think with a little planning you could have a great fall as well.

whats up guys, I also fish the sunbury area. would love to learn all that i can about the area, and willing to teach what i have picked up. the #s of fish in that area seam to be awesome. just fished there this weekend, no luck, the river is still on its head. but cant waite to go back! willing to fish with anyone anytime, so lets fish.
